Neither the park's camping page nor the campground's recreation.gov page states a booking window. Check which dates are on sale on its recreation.gov page before you plan around a release day.

The park says South Rim sites are reservation-only, year-round. The recreation.gov page still describes winter as first-come, first-served, so check both before a winter trip. After the 2025 South Rim Fire, only 25 sites, all non-electric, have reopened.
