Campsite Ranger sends transactional text alerts only— a message when a campsite or permit you asked us to watch opens up, or when wildfire, smoke, or a closure affects your trip dates. We never send marketing texts. This page documents the whole program in public so you can see exactly what you’re agreeing to.
Program at a glance

How you opt in
Texts are off by default. Every one of these steps is required:
- Create an account at campsiteranger.com and sign in with an emailed link.
- Enter your own mobile number in account settings.
- Choose a text-enabled option under “Notify me by” (Text, or Both).
- Check the consent box shown below.
- Save. We store the date, time, and exact wording version you agreed to.
Consent is never a condition of purchase, and we do not accept phone numbers from anyone but the account holder.

Your mobile data
No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties. Your number goes to our messaging provider solely to deliver the alerts you asked for, and to no one else.
